The ache in her heart was palpable. She tried to continue with life day to day, yet the pain was inescapable and had a weight to it. It could’t be ignored. Why, why, why did that happen? Inescapable, melancholy darkness pervaded her being. She lights candles in her room to heal her through. The thoughts trucking down and compounding on top of each other. Giving it your all for a betrayal like that. The anguish usurps her being as the darkness surmounts. So dark, heavy.
‘Do it the voice whispers through the crevices of her mind. ‘Do it’
She grabs the scissors from the dresser and creates a long cut down her leg. The pain in her leg was negligible from the piercing betrayal and weight that plagued her. Tears trucking down face, the scratch was deep painful, bled. The tears continued like a waterfall, she grabs the scissors again for more.
She heard a soft knock on her door.
‘Natalie, are you there?’
She paused and said ‘Yes?
Her dad was calling her
‘Ok come downstairs, your tea is there,’
She paused as and said ‘I’ll be there soon.’
As time continues, day to day life proceeds through and she sees that things are fine.
And there is a million times more love and light than the darkness she once knew.
She thrives, grows a new backbone; She’s never been so strong as she shines bright.
